Counselling, therapeutic coaching, counselling supervision

Harriet is an integrative psychotherapeutic counsellor offering both short-term counselling and longer term psychotherapeutic work. She also has training and experience in coaching and can draw on a wide range of approaches to match the unique needs of her clients.

She’s an accredited BACP counsellor and has lots of experience working with people across all age ranges in health, education and charity settings as well as in employee assistance and private practice.

Her clients are often people who are finding it hard to manage or make sense of life challenges and transitions, such as changes in work, dealing with relationship struggles, family difficulties or identity questions.

The longer term psychotherapeutic work Harriet offers might involve looking at past experiences, attachment patterns and relational styles which have developed throughout life. Together she will review with you what impact these experiences have had and, with care, understanding and compassion, will work with you to enable becoming more at ease with yourself for a greater sense of authenticity, self-acceptance and fulfilment.

Harriet also offers counselling supervision, with her core integrative model coming from the principles of integrative psychotherapy, humanistic approaches, Gestalt, TA and systems theory. Her perspective is also informed by lifespan development, attachment theory, neuroscience and knowledge of a range of approaches to supervision. Having completed additional specialist training to work with young people, she can offer particular insight into approaches with this client group. Harriet was also a speech and language therapist for many years and can draw on this knowledge base for supervisees working with neurodiverse clients and their families. As a counselling supervisor, her interest is in providing her supervisees with a safe, grounded, compassionate space to reflect on their work and take forward their professional development.
